Amsterdam in Instax

We’ve just returned from a little trip to Amsterdam, and of course my Instax Neo 90 came with me! I wanted to share the photos I took with it because I’m absolutely obsessed with this camera and I love getting snaps with it.

The shot on the left was the first I took in Amsterdam, it had to be of the canal didn’t it! I liked how striking the Westerkerk church looked with the gorgeous weather we were having (we were so lucky!) and then while we wandered round the city we found these steps leading down closer to the water so propped up the instax with the help of a Gorillapod to get this really lovely shot of us in front of the canal and houses!

We stopped by an ice cream parlour called IJscuypje for dessert one evening because it looked like a really nice place – and this instax doesn’t quite do justice to how nice the ice creams were. I had coconut and praline which was absolutely divine, I struggle to find coconut ice cream in the UK but after having it in Barcelona a few years ago I’m in love with it. I suppose it’s a good thing I can’t find it easily as otherwise I’d have it too often! We also got a really nice photo of us with the canals and houses behind us which I think is super cute.

On our final day in Amsterdam we visited an all you can eat pancake boat – more on that later! We tried to get a nice photo inside but it was too dark to see us as well as the outside. I’m not a huge fan of using the flash on the instax even though it was needed here so we also went on the top deck of the boat to get a nice photo outside!

Obviously I had to get some nice little shots of Amsterdam. While we were walking round the city we came across this one bridge that was just gorgeous, these flowers were lining the railings as well as bikes and quintessentially Amsterdam houses behind, I had to wait quite a while for there to be fewer people around to get this shot but I really like it! The bikes and graffiti were just opposite our hostel and I loved how the bikes were lined up. It sums Amsterdam up really!

These two were shots from the plane, I should’ve got one on the way out really but silly me left my camera in the bag that went in the overhead locker and it was too much of a fuss to get out. I do like the way the sky was while we were up there though so I’m happy with how they came out!

Lastly we have a shot from our hostel, including the cool wristbands we had to use while there to access the hubs and our room! I’m not sure what happened to the bottom of the photo with the black blob but it doesn’t bother me – instax photos don’t have to be perfect! It’s a nice little instax memo of our awesome accommodation.

So those were my instax photos from the holiday! Look out for more Amsterdam posts on here because I have lots to say about it, we had such a fantastic time!

Great post! Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities to keep going back to. There is always something new and unique to explore. I really like how the photos turned out – they have certain, lovely atmosphere to them.
